Hi,
I have been searching the internet for an
answers to my questions, I have, but I have not been able to do so.
I came across your site, and it said you may
answer questions by contacting you.
Here is the question; No trick question, a
real ones;
1) {Who are the 7 thousand men slain
in an earthquake, when Jesus' comes?} Rev. 11:13
2) {Do you believe the Anti-christ is the son-of-perdition, Satan?}
2 Thess. 2:3-4.
I am working on a document called "Sons of
God". I thought with the research I did, it was the fallen angels, (sons
of God); that were slain; but I found another verse that
contradicted that. So I am stuck.
Here is what I have:
Jude 6 These angels are in chains, etc.
under darkness (unto the judgment of the great day).
I thought the great day was at
Jesus's coming, for these angels, but really was not that sure because,
(I know judgment for ALL is at the end of the millennium) Rev.
20. then;
Matt.25:41 Then shall he say also unto them
on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire;
prepared for the devil and his angels:
My research did show these sons of God were
Satan's angels. But, according to Matt., above, Satan's angels,
(sons of God), in Jude 6, their judgment will be at the end of the
Mill., (God's White Throne Judgment), when Satan is cast into the fire,
with his angels.
Can you answer the question, Who are the
7,000 men slain in the earthquake?
I will appreciate your help and response.
Thank you so much,

Hi Name Withheld,
In answer to your questions.
1) {Who are the 7 thousand men slain
in an earthquake, when Jesus' comes?} Rev. 11:13
Since the bible gives very little information about that I could not
say more than what is written of them. They are men. They are
slain in the Earthquake described in that passage. Those men may
not have even been born yet, for all I know. Knowing their precise
identity will not really profit us. I'm sure there are people out
there who think they know "who" the 7000 men are. But I prefer not
to engage in speculation in such matters. Those 7000 men are the
7000 men who shall be slain in the earthquake when Christ returns.
If God did not think them worthy of further elaboration, I do not
think they are worthy either. Standing in the last days is not a
matter of knowing who is who among men, but of knowing who our Lord
is and what he expects of us. Blessed is that servant whom, when
his Lord comes, is found doing his Lord's will.
2) {Do you believe the Anti-christ is the
son-of-perdition, Satan?} 2 Thess. 2:3-4.
I think so. But there may be more to it
than I think I know. In Revelation 13 there seem to be several
different satanic powers. They are all Antichrist. But I do expect a
single figure who will convince the world that he is God. What is
most important is that we know exactly who the true Christ is. If we
know who He really is, then there is no version of Antichrist which will
be able to deceive us. Christ has called us to righteousness,
godliness, and sobriety in this present world.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that
bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we
should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of
the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all
iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good
works.
The man of sin, the son of perdition, calls
us to unholiness, unrighteousness, and sin. You can tell the difference
between his children and the children of God very simply by their sinful
and unrighteous deeds. (! John 3) The best thing we can do to be
prepared for the end times is to take hold of the promises of God so
that we might be conformed to the image of His son. If we become like
Christ, it will be impossible to deceive us. That is what I am working
towards.
Here is what I have:
Jude 6 These angels are in chains, etc. under darkness (unto
the judgment of the great day).
I thought the great day was at Jesus' coming, for
these angels, but really was not that sure because, (I know judgment
for ALL is at the end of
the millennium) Rev. 20. then;
Matt.25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left
hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire;
prepared for the devil and his angels:
There could be more than one great day. I
can definitely see that the day of the white throne judgment might be
called "the great day," The phrase occurs several times:
Zephaniah 1:14 The GREAT DAY of the LORD is
near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the
LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
John 7:37 In the last day, that GREAT DAY of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left
their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under
darkness unto the judgment of the GREAT DAY.
Revelation 6:17 For the GREAT DAY of his wrath is come; and who shall be
able to stand?
Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles,
which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to
gather them to the battle of that GREAT DAY of God Almighty.
I don't know that the term "great day" must
apply strictly to a single occasion in all of history. The judgment at
the beginning of the millennium is one the Great day and the judgment at
the end of the millennium is the great day. It seems to me that on any
day when God executes judgment might be called the great day, or that
great day.
Beyond that I do not trouble myself much
with those kinds of issues because my main purpose is to exhort and
encourage believers to take hold of the promises of God so that they
might be ready to stand against all the devices of the wicked one. And
I do not see that coming from knowledge about fallen angels or from
knowing the precise identity of antichrist. It comes from God having
raised us up in his Son so that we are ready to resist sin and serve
God, even to death.
Sincerely,
Paul Stringini
