I thank you for your website.  For years, I had reason to believe Mr. Murray was another Jim Jones.  I was never a follower for that reason.  You have shed some light on the truth about him.

Hi, I wanted to acknowledge your letter.  Jim Jones might be a little strong, but I agree that Arnold Murray is a cult of personality.  His personal image and magnetism are the essential factors in his popularity.  That is why his son will never really be able to replace him and they will continue to broadcast Arnold Murray's image teaching the bible.  If it was all about the teaching then Dennis Murray would be able to step in and take over top to bottom.  But it isn't about the teaching, it is about the personality, so Arnold will be on TV for years to come.   There will arise after him men who will try to determine "who he was" much as there are some who say that Herbert W. Armstrong was the "End-time Elijah" There are lots of people who teach what Murray taught, or most of it, but they are not popular because they do not have his charisma, which does not appeal to everyone, but definitely has appealed to many.
